Common questions

Know what to expect before you come in.

Still unsure which appointment to choose? Call or text the office at (605) 418-5994.

How much does chiropractic care cost?

Current cash prices are listed directly on the Mountain Movement online booking page. You can review the price for each appointment type before choosing a time.

View current prices and appointment options.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. Mountain Movement Chiropractic is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. VA Community Care participation is expected to begin in mid-August 2026.

Insurance benefits vary by plan. Your portion may include a copay, deductible, coinsurance, non-covered services, or visit limitations.

How does VA Community Care work?

VA patients need an approved referral and authorization before receiving non-emergency care through a community provider. Your authorization defines the provider, services, number of visits, and approved time period.

Please call Mountain Movement before scheduling with VA benefits so the office can confirm that the network status and authorization are ready.

Can I book my appointment online?

Yes. Online booking is usually the fastest way to review availability, current prices, and appointment types.

Book through Jane.

What if I do not see a time that works?

Call or text the office at (605) 418-5994. Same-day appointments are often available, and the office will do its best to find a time that fits.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Mountain Movement does not offer walk-in visits. The schedule can vary throughout the day, so booking ahead ensures Dr. Hansen is in the office and ready for your appointment.

How long is the first appointment?

Most first visits take about 20 to 30 minutes. This includes your health history, a movement-focused exam, treatment when appropriate, and a plan based on your needs and goals.

Will I be adjusted at the first visit?

Usually, yes. If the history and exam show that chiropractic care is appropriate and no red flags are found, most patients can receive treatment during their first appointment.

How long are follow-up visits?

A typical follow-up visit takes about 10 to 14 minutes. Visits may include a quick movement check, chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue treatment, and simple home exercises based on what you need that day.

How many visits will I need?

There is no one-size-fits-all number. Recommendations depend on whether the problem is new or long-standing, what the exam shows, how your body responds, and what you want to return to doing.

Care is generally organized around relief, rebuilding function, and sustaining progress. Learn more about the Mountain Movement Approach.

Do I need a referral?

Most patients can book directly without a referral. VA Community Care is different and requires VA approval, a referral, and authorization before covered community care begins.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move easily. Workout clothes or casual clothing are both good choices.

What conditions do you help with?

Mountain Movement commonly helps patients with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, joint pain, stiffness, and movement restrictions. Patients also come in for wellness, recovery, and performance-focused care.

Explore chiropractic services.

Do you provide exercises to do at home?

Yes. When appropriate, Dr. Hansen provides practical home exercises based on your condition, movement, and goals. These are designed to reinforce progress between visits without giving you an overwhelming routine.

Existing patients can also use the Mountain Movement Exercise Portal.

What payment methods do you accept?

Mountain Movement accepts major credit cards and checks. Contact the office before your appointment when you have a question about payment, insurance billing, or the appointment type you should choose.

Not sure which appointment to choose?

Call or text the office. We will help point you toward the right booking option without making the process more complicated than it needs to be.
