Care for changing demands

You carry a lot. Your care plan should account for it.

Pregnancy and postpartum life can change how the back, pelvis, hips, ribs, shoulders, and neck handle everyday movement. Feeding positions, lifting, carrying, interrupted sleep, and returning to activity can all add strain.

For children, Mountain Movement focuses on musculoskeletal complaints and movement concerns. Chiropractic care does not replace prenatal care, postpartum medical care, or a child's pediatrician.

Mountain Movement focuses on musculoskeletal pain and movement. Concerns such as bleeding, fever, neurological changes, feeding problems, infections, developmental changes, or significant illness require the appropriate medical provider.

Keep your care team involved Continue routine prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric care. Tell Dr. Hansen about complications, restrictions, recent procedures, or medical recommendations.

Common questions

Questions for parents and expecting families.

Call or text Mountain Movement at (605) 418-5994 when you are unsure which appointment to choose.

Can I receive chiropractic care while pregnant?

Many pregnant patients seek conservative care for musculoskeletal discomfort. Positioning and technique should be adapted, and pregnancy complications or restrictions should be discussed with your obstetric provider and Dr. Hansen.

Does chiropractic care turn a breech baby or guarantee an easier delivery?

No. Mountain Movement does not promise to change fetal position, prevent complications, or guarantee a particular delivery outcome. Care is focused on the pregnant patient's comfort and musculoskeletal function.

What can postpartum care address?

Visits may focus on back, hip, rib, neck, and shoulder discomfort; lifting and feeding positions; and gradual return to activity. New or severe postpartum symptoms should be evaluated medically.

Do you treat babies and children?

Dr. Hansen provides age-appropriate musculoskeletal assessment and gentle care when appropriate. Chiropractic is not a substitute for pediatric care and is not presented as treatment for infections, colic, reflux, sleep disorders, allergies, or developmental conditions.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

Families often need flexibility. Contact the office when you have a question about bringing children or scheduling adjacent family appointments.
